Weight Training for Women

A lot of women are intimidated by weight training. They don't want to end up looking like some type of she-hulk, and they think that by lifting weights they will get big, bulky muscles. I would like to assure you that this is not the case at all. In fact, a quick trip around your average gym will show you that it doesn't make men big and bulky most of the time either! There is a good reason for this.

A recent article that I read has a really good analogy that I love. Imagine you have 2 teams of contractors and both are instructed to build a house. Both teams use the same tools, have the same knowledge and expertise, and use the same techniques. The difference is, team one gets 10,000 bricks. Team two only gets 1000 bricks. Guess who's going to build the bigger house? That's right, team one!

You see, to gain muscle mass, you not only need a solid weight training program, but you need a LOT of calories and protein. If you lift weights and eat a regular amount of food, what you will get is a slim, toned body. The kind of body that most women want.

So, find a program that works for you, get out to the gym, and get that look you've always wanted!
